A seamstress who loved Disney World, enjoyed watching wrestling (Lakeview High School and Penn State University), soaked up every minute of the sun she could while reading a book, an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and the best at all her roles in life – daughter, sister, wife, daughter-in-law, mother, aunt, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend.
A woman of valor.
To know Sherry Ann Morton James was to love her.
On Saturday June 8th, 2019, Sherry was life-flighted to UPMC Presby after suffering a massive brain hemorrhage. Our family stayed up almost all night waiting to hear from the neurosurgeon. We were told Sunday morning that there was nothing they could do – the aneurysm had ruptured in her brain stem. She was pronounced brain dead on Monday, June 10th, 2019 and our family will never be the same.
Sherry was able to save three lives with her liver and both kidneys as well as help two people to see with her corneas, through organ donation thanks to CORE (Center for Organ Recovery & Education).
