In Memory of
Dave passed on June 26, 2021 after suffering a PEA Cardiac Arrest. He was placed on life support on June 20, 2021, where he remained until the ultimate decision was made.
Dave was a graduate of the Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children, Geneva College and the Beaver County Medical Center. He worked at Shadyside hospital as a diagnostic imaging technician for 22 years before having to retire due to his loss of vision. Most of his years at Shadyside, he worked in the ORs. He was hounded by many publications to write about the only legally blind OR diagnostic imaging technician in the country, which he never gave into their requests. He was an avid fisherman, boater, bowler and volleyball player prior to losing his vision completely. He loved music, which brought him to being a DJ on the Geneva College radio station while he attended college and singing Karaoke. His love of classic cars led him into many different arenas, including the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, annual trips to Spring and Ford Carlisle, multiple car cruises and shows where he and His wife Jeanne would show off their 1969 Mustang Mach 1 and hosting a Barrett-Jackson classic car auction party every January for all his “gearhead” friends. He had a huge circle of friends from all walks of life, and he loved his Happy Hours at Cappy’s Café in Shadyside with his close friends, the Corner Crew.
Dave had a heart of gold, was loving and generous to all his family and friends and will be missed by many who morn his loss. His selfless donation to CORE will go on to help those in need.
In lieu of flowers, donations were made, in his name to the Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children. The school was blessed with over $2,000.00 in donations.
Dave loved life, even though he was not blessed with vision. He loved his family and his friends and did everything he possibly could for all.
