Alice Morley — A Legacy of Love That Lives On

Alice Morley spent her life giving love to others, and even in death–she gave the greatest gift of love through organ donation.

Alice Morley spent her life caring for people.
She was a devoted mother, a loving grandmother, a trusted neighbor, and a true “community mom.” Her home was a place where children were welcomed, cared for, fed, and loved. She gave her time freely and never needed recognition for the difference she made in the lives of others.

To her family, Alice was our heart. She was the person we could always count on. For her children, siblings, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, she was mom and rock of the entire family. She was woven into the everyday moments of our life. The love between her and family was immeasurable.

Alice found joy in simple things: her family, making people laugh, helping others, and receiving roses just because someone was thinking of her. She had a way of making people feel welcome and cared for, whether they had known her for years or had just walked through her door.

That spirit of caring did not end with her life.
Alice’s children chose to donate her organ donor. Through CORE, her final gift of generosity has the potential to give others something she valued so deeply—more time with the people they love.

This is the part of Alice’s story that brings both incredible sadness and incredible pride.

We miss her every day. We still have moments when we instinctively want to call her, walk next door, or tell her something about our day. The reality that we will never hear her voice again is one of the hardest parts of losing her.

But Alice’s story did not end when her life did.

Her legacy continues through her children and grandchildren, through the countless people she cared for in her community, and through the lives touched by her final act of generosity.

Alice spent her life giving people love, comfort, and a place to belong.
In the end, she gave one more gift—life itself.
That is why Alice Morley is a hero.
Not because she sought recognition, but because helping others was simply who she was.
Her love continues.
Her kindness continues.

And, because of her and her children’s decision to give, her legacy may continue in lives she will never have the opportunity to meet.

My mom was a giver in life.
She became a giver in death.
And she will forever be my hero.
